There is quite a bit of football taking place at many different venues this weekend. It does appear that a quick moving area of low pressure is forecast to move through the area this weekend as well. That will try to bring some rain chances with it.
Fans attending any high school games or the Nighthawks home opener should have nothing to worry about. Temperatures this evening will start off close to 70° and fall into the lower 60s by the end of the games. Clear skies and a light breeze will go along with.
There is a 60% chance of rain starting Saturday morning lasting into the early afternoon hours. The areas most likely to see this would be along the Missouri River and east into Western Iowa. The farther west of the Missouri you are, the less the chance of rain and the warmer the temperatures will be.
Most of the showers should slide east through the late afternoon and evening leaving Lincoln under partly cloudy skies around the 6 pm kickoff. Temperatures should be in the upper 60s as well.
We'll keep a 20% chance of having a lingering shower or two hang around the metro for the start of the UNO Mavericks game at Caniglia Field. Conditions should improve through the evening though.
Folks getting an early start on the tailgating may have some rain to deal with but by game time Saturday night the weather should cooperate.
