Southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri until 4 a.m. Sunday. This includes Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
The vehicle being pursued struck a fire hydrant near Windward Drive and Buccaneer Boulevard in Buccaneer Bay and the driver was taken to the hospital.
Cass County Sheriff William C. Brueggemann advised that his office is investigating the accident that resulted after Plattsmouth Police officers pursued a red 1992 Chevrolet pickup. Police say the driver had been observed operating the vehicle recklessly in Plattsmouth. The incident began after 11pm Friday.
According to the Cassgram, Brueggemann says the driver of the pickup was identified as Jared Rye, age 24, of Plattsmouth. Rye was taken to Midlands Hospital for injuries and deputies went to Midlands to get a blood draw for possible driving while intoxicated charges as alcohol is suspected in the incident, says the report.
Reports from both the Plattsmouth Police Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Office will be forwarded to the County Attorney’s Office for possible charges.
