Nebraska Fall Turkey Season Opens Wednesday

Hunters will be practicing the skills of silence soon, lest they startle wary turkeys in Nebraska's fields and woodlands.

The fall turkey season begins Wednesday.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says adults and youths may hunt through Dec. 31 with archery equipment or shotgun.

Fall permits cost $24 for residents, $91 for nonresidents and $6 for youths under 16.

The permits are available at the commission website, OutdoorNebraska.org.
