Body returned to Grand Island, funeral set for next week A fallen hero is back home in Nebraska as family and friends prepare to say their final goodbyes. The Patriot Guard escorted the body of First Lt. Mark Noziska to a Grand Island funeral home Wednesday.

A fallen hero is back home in Nebraska as family and friends prepare to say their final goodbyes. The Patriot Guard escorted the body of First Lt. Mark Noziska to a Grand Island funeral home Wednesday.
The 24-year-old was killed in Afghanistan on August 30th. Noziska grew up in Grand Island, but graduated from Papillion-La Vista High School in 2004 and the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2008.
Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. on September 17th at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Grand Island. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery with full military honors.
Noziska is survived by his parents and brother who live in Grand Island.
