The Missouri Department of Transportation says it is planning to close the U.S. Highway 136 bridge into southeast Nebraska for construction work the weekend of September 17th through the 19th.
The closure will block traffic on U.S. Highway 136 between the Nebraska town of Brownville and the Missouri towns of Phelps City and Rock Port.
The department says the bridge will close at 6 p.m. September 17th and reopen on September 19th. It could re-open sooner if the work is completed ahead of schedule.
The contractor will be adding steel plates to the bottom of the existing beams.
