A central Kansas city has unveiled the first of 23 sculptures that will be installed as a public art project.
The 400-pound piece, called "Wheels of Commerce," was unveiled Thursday at the Salina Chamber of Commerce building. It is part of the SculptureTour that will bring 22 other sculptures to the city next May.
The Salina Journal reports that "Wheels of Commerce," created by Salina artist Rich Bergen, is an interactive piece made with mill plates.
Mike Hoppock, chairman of the Salina SculptureTour committee, says the sculpture tour is designed to educate people about different mediums of art, and to bring people to downtown Salina.
