A Beatrice woman has filed a lawsuit over injuries she suffered when her vehicle slid off a road at the city's landfill.
Lisa Busboom says in documents filed in Gage County District Court that the city was negligent and created unsafe conditions at the landfill.
Her filing says rock and crushed gravel were laid on the inclined road, making it unstable and causing her vehicle and trailer to slide down an embankment in July 2009. Busboom says she suffered a dislocated hip and fractures to her back, pelvis and tailbone, among other injuries.
She is seeking unspecified monetary damages.
City attorney Tobias Tempelmeyer declined to comment on Busboom's allegations. He says the city council has taken no action on a claim she submitted prior to the lawsuit.
