Update: Shooter Opens Fire On Metro Bus

Two people were injured after a shooting that witnesses say stemmed from a fight on a MAT bus Tuesday afternoon.

The shooting happened near 30th and Ellison streets.

An eyewitness tells Channel 6 news a 14-year-old and 16-year-old were shot on their way home from school.

Eyewitnesses report a fight broke out on a MAT bus near the intersection around 4 this afternoon. When the bus driver pulled over, the two victims ran off the bus. A witness tells Channel 6 News the shooter chased the two teens and from the back door bus steps opened fire, injuring both of them.

According to witnesses, one victim was shot in the chest and the other in the leg.

Investigators looked for the alleged shooter who reportedly fled west into Metro's Fort Omaha campus but did not find him.

The victims, who's names have not been released are both in stable condition at the Nebraska Medical Center.
