A man wanted in connection with the beating death of a Council Bluffs man, Monday turned himself into authorities.
An arrest warrant had been issued for Chad Fortner charging him with 1st degree murder, attempted murder, willful injury and assault with a deadly weapon.
Investigators say the victim, Alejandro Sanchez, died from a blow to the head with a blunt object.
Friends and family of Fortner told Channel 6 News reporter Justin Joseph Sunday that Fortner hit Sanchez with a tire iron because he was sexually assaulting Fortner's girlfriend.
Investigators have not commented on those details. They say Fortner turned himself in about 2:30 Monday afternoon.
Another man at the scene, Iyair Solis-Marin, was also hit in the head. He suffered a large cut and a broken jaw.
