Highway Project Gets Funded
Work to begin on Highway 1.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin Monday (8/23) on Highway 1, from the junction of N-1/US-34 north to Elmwood, according to the Nebraska Department of Roads.
The Cassgram reports Highway 1 will be closed Monday at 6:30am for total culvert replacement. Highway 1 is anticipated to reopen to through traffic September 6. Motorists will be detoured on Highway 34 east to Highway 50, north on Highway 50 to Highway 1, then west and south on Highway 1 back to Elmwood.
Following the culvert replacement, work will include milling, resurfacing and guard rail installation. Traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers. Motorists should expect delays.
Work on this project is anticipated to be completed this fall.
Contractors, Inc., of Lincoln, has the $678,574 contract.
