Explosion rocks a Plattsmouth garage.
Police, fire and rescue units responded to 301 2nd Avenue in Plattsmouth at 2:17pm Tuesday. Upon arrival, a male party was found to be injured and was immediately transported to the Bellevue Medical Center for minor burns by Plattsmouth Rescue, said Plattsmouth Police Officer Jon Hardy. A second male party was later checked and released on scene by Murray Rescue.
The Cassgram reports the garage incurred structural damage to one wall from the force of the explosion but fire damage was limited to a motorcycle. The State Fire Marshall's office was called into investigate the cause of the explosion. The city building inspector also responded to check the integrity of the structure which was later determined to be sound. None of the injuries are thought to be serious, said Hardy.
Fire Chief Mike Wilson said the men had been welding and the flame ignited gasoline vapors.
