What does it take to design a roller coaster or for a DJ to put together the perfect mash-up? Math and science skills!
The Durham Museum and WOWT NBC Omaha are proud to invite your family to step into the Design Zone May 24 through September 14. It's an entire exhibit devoted to showing us how math and science is used in our everyday lives.
Design Zone focuses on using creative thinking to solve challenges in three key areas: music, art, and action. The interactive exhibit is geared toward children ages 11 to 14; however, there is something for every member of the family to enjoy, no matter what age.
On select Saturdays, June 14, 21, and 28, visitors can calculate their creativity! Programming will highlight how math takes art, music and engineering to the next level. Each Saturday will feature special guests and activities that will take your Design Zone experience even further. The probability for fun is practically incalculable and the programs are included in general admission and free for members.
In the spirit of Design Zone, Tuesday Movie Nights on June 3, 17, and July 1 will feature storylines with characters who rely on their problem solving skills and creative design through art, music and action. Bring a blanket for an evening in front of the big screen. Free popcorn provided courtesy of First National Bank. Standard admission applies and museum members are free.
