More than 10,000 buckets of popcorn will be served over the five-day Omaha Film Festival, which begins WEDNESDAY (March 5) and continues through March 9.
OK, I made up that part about the popcorn. There is no official stat on that, but I'm guessing there will be plenty of the buttery fluffy goodness served next week.
It's the 9th annual edition of the Omaha Film Festival, proudly sponsosred by WOWT NBC Omaha, a local movie buff extravaganza that will be held in a new location this year: the Village Pointe Cinema. It's open to all – last year's event drew about 4,000.
The film categories will include 92 submissions covering short films, animated shorts, Nebraska-bred short films, documentaries, horror films and feature-length movies, including "TRUNK'd" – a road-trip comedy that involves four men driving from Nebraska to Texas to dispose of the body of a dead call girl – and Enemy, a mystery-suspense film in which a man (Jake Gyllenhaal) spots his look-a-like and then tries to track him down.
Get in the mood for movie merriment by watching the official trailer to TRUNK'd, which stars Dan Cummins (Comedy Central, Tonight Show) and Eddie Pepitone (Two Broke Girls, Conan), by clicking on the link at right. Click on the second link at right to see the trailer to Enemy.
