A new study finds oral contraceptives can help relieve the symptoms of painful menstrual periods.
This comes after years of conflicting evidence as to whether birth control pills actually provided relief.
Swedish researchers conducted a 30 year study and found women who took oral birth control reported less pain, required fewer painkillers and had improved working ability. And while age also seems to help with painful cramps, the pill made a more dramatic difference.
