WalMart has been ordered to pay back wages to thousands of employees.
The Labor Department has ordered the retail giant to pay $4.8 million in back wages and damages to about 4500 Vision-Center workers who were denied overtime pay.
WalMart had considered those employees exempt from federal regulations requiring overtime pay...but the company reclassified them in 2007.
Since then, WalMart and the government had been negotiating the amount owed.
