Taxing You Per Mile?

The need for highway and bridge repairs and improvements has states looking for new ways to tax motorists.

According to an article in USA TODAY, among the leading ideas is taxing drivers for the number of miles they travel rather than for how much gasoline they buy...since gasoline taxes aren't providing enough money to pay for roads and bridges.

Minnesota and Oregon are already testing technology to keep track of mileage, and other states are preparing to do the same.
