Higher airfares and still high gasoline prices are driving up the cost of this year's summer vacation.

Travel experts say airlines are intentionally cutting back on capacity and flying fewer planes...making fewer seats available.

And there's another factor...airline mergers...which is leading to less competition on some routes.

Overall nationwide, travel experts say airfares are up on average six to ten percent from last year.
