A new report says the poverty rate in America could climb to levels not seen since the 1960s.
The Associated Press surveyed more than a dozen nonpartisan, liberal and conservative economists, academics and so-called think tanks.
The predict the poverty rate will rise from 15.1 percent in 2010 to as high as 15.7 percent when the Census figures come out this fall.
Even a modest gain of 0.1 percent would put the poverty rate at its highest level since 1965.
