The dramatic drop in prices was brought on by an early, and huge, harvest of shoft-shell lobsters.
Wholesale prices plummeted...good news for crustacean connoisseurs.
It's distressing news for lobstermen, who are barely breaking even.
That's causing a problem along the Northern border with Canadian lobstermen trying to keep Maine lobsters out of the country's processing plants.
