According to the travel research firm PhoCusWright, last year travel agencies accounted for a third of the $284 billion dollar travel market.

And the growing business means need for more travel agents...with one in three agencies in America currently hiring...a great sign for an industry that took a hit with the birth of on-line, book-your-travel-yourself websites.

But according to this latest study, more and more Americans are gong back to their local travel agent to book everything from family vacations to weekend get-aways.
