U.S. album sales rose last year for the first time since 2004.
Digital album sales were up, CD sales were down, but total sales increased by 3% to 458 million.
It's a sign that rising digital sales are finally stemming the decade-long decline in CDs.
According to Nielsen Soundscan, British singer Adele's sophomore album "21" sold 5.8 million albums.
Michael Buble's "Christmas" sold 2.5 million.
Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" sold 2.1 million.
