Last minute tax filers may have someone else to blame for their procrastination.
Several online brokerage firms asked for 30 day extensions to send out tax forms-moving the deadline to March 15th.
Some firms say several new rules, including requiring them to track how much investors paid for securities, caused the delay.
The delay means tax payers have a shorter time to get their taxes done and must wait longer for refunds.
