We're still in January...and airfares are going up yet again.

According to farecompare.com, airlines are layering on domestic surcharges as Americans get ready to book spring and summer travel.

This week, Delta Airlines initiated the second domestic airfare hike attempt of the year with an increase of
four to ten dollars roundtrip across much of the U.S.

The increase follows a hike that came last week of up to $20 roundtrip.

According to many in the industry, those two hikes could be just the beginning of more fare hikes in the months to come.
