United Airlines said Wednesday, June 4, 2008, that it's cutting up to 1,100 more jobs, removing 100 fuel-guzzling airplanes from its fleet and slashing domestic capacity as it tries to cope with spiraling fuel prices. There are deals to be found on airline tickets.

The Wall Street Journal reports the online booking service, Travelocity, is estimating airfares for the 100 most popular routes are at their lowest levels in two years..and 40% lower than last June.

The report says some cross-country round-trip tickets have dropped from around $400 to $250.

Airlines are cutting the prices to fill empty seats.
