They're looking to keep the attention of TV viewers by making a lot more cable shows online, at no extra charge.
Comcast, Time Warner, and NBC Universal are some of the major players in the effort.
But, here's the catch. You'll only be able to see them if you're a cable subscriber.
The goal is to compete with online video services who offer online viewers a wealth of TV shows for free.
