With the school year coming to a close, various metro groups said thanks by hosting a Teacher Appreciation Evening Saturday at Aksarben Village.
Teachers were treated to a free concert and Zumba class. Organizers thought it was important to give teachers a reason to dance. "I think it means a lot to them just to know that people recognize what they're doing, the work they're doing and that they're really dedicated to their jobs,” said Amy Coacher of Learning HQ.
This was the third year for Teacher Appreciation Evening. The first thousand attendees with a school ID received a free gift.
