Omaha Steaks Serves Up Scholarships For Future Chefs

Omaha Steaks has handed out five scholarships for students interested in studying culinary arts.

The scholarships are offered through the James Beard Foundation, which already offers encouragement to people interested in culinary arts careers.

The winners include two students at Omaha's Metropolitan Community College, Jarrod Lane and Jason Volkmer. Two of the other winners, Alyson Tabb and Miranda Hill, both attend the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. The final winner is Mitchell Chase of Seminole, Florida, who plans to attend the culinary school at Johnson & Wales in North Miami, Florida.
