Omaha Ensemble Sings At Carnegie Hall

The Vocal Ensemble of Omaha Christian Academy sang with a mass choir at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Sunday, April 7, 2013.

Under the auspices of MidAmerica Productions Inc, this glorious concert was accompanied by the New England Symphonic Ensemble and professional soloists.

The Omaha Christian Ensemble was joined by outstanding high school, university, and adult ensembles from California, Virginia, Beirut Lebanon, and Sharjah – United Arab Emeritas to form a symphonic choir.

The concert was the Faure’ “Requiem in D minor, Op. 48” conducted by Dr. Joanna Nachef, Director of choral activities at El Camino College in Torrance, California .

The concert took place on the fourth day of a five-day/four night residency from April 4 – 8, 2013 in New York, which included intensive rehearsals as well as some free time to take advantage of the city’s offerings.

The Omaha Christian Academy Ensemble is a select group of 18 high school age young people under the direction of Mr. Larry Nilius. Fourteen members of the group made the trip to New York and included:
