Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo opened the gates to their Little Lions Preschool Monday. The pre-K students helped cut the ribbon at the ceremony.

Zoo Director Dennis Pate said, “The teachers here have really transformed the room, you can see behind me, into a wonderful indoor space. You know they just don't have a classroom any more, they have 132 acres and seven acres of that are all indoors. So what a playground that would be."

The program is partnered with Bancroft and Castelar elementary schools.

Keeping nature in mind, science, technology, engineering and math are the main focal points of the program.
