What: Nebraska Shakespeare Presents “Twelfth Night”
When: 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29
Where: Bellevue Berry Farm & pumpkin Ranch, 11001 S. 48th St., Bellevue
Two of the more lively and amusing "days" that are celebrated annually – certainly more fun than Columbus Day or Bosses Day – are "Talk Like Shakespeare Day" and "Talk Like A Pirate Day." The inventive peeps at Nebraska Shakespeare must agree, because they've combined the two for their new tour. The result is a pirate-themed version of the Bard's Twelfth Night, which the NS company is taking on the road beginning Sunday, Sept. 29, with a public performance at the Bellevue Berry Farm & Pumpkin Ranch, 11001 S. 48th St., in Bellevue.
The 75-minute abridged tour production is described as a fast-paced comedy, dynamic and dangerous, with mischievous tricks and a moving story surrounded by music – the songs in the show will be lyrics by Shakespeare with the character of Feste (played by Sarah Carlson-Brown, shown above) singing and playing ukulele.
As William writes in the play, "If music be the food of love, play on!" Arrrrr!
Admission to the Berry Farm is $8, and the show begins at 4 p.m. Sunday.
