One of my favorite local singer-songwriters, Dan McCarthy of McCarthy Trenching fame, will again provide live music to a film screening at Film Streams. He did it before to a showing of the Buster Keaton classic Sherlock Jr., and it was a huge hit.

McCarthy (pictured inset) will be joined by James Maakestad (McCarthy Trenching, Gus & Call) for the screening of Alfred Hitchcock's silent film The Farmer's Wife, a rare romantic comedy from the Master of Suspense. The plot: A widower draws up a list of potential wives and sets about courting them with disastrous results.
