Q: What did the snail say as it was riding on the back of a turtle?
OK, so you won't see me performing at the second-annual Omaha Comedy Week. And that's the good news because, one: I'm not a comedian, and two: there will be a slew of talented ha-ha makers who are true comedians and who will be performing all week, from Monday, July 15, through July 20 at various venues around Omaha.
The action beings at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St., on Monday with OK Party Comedy Explosivo. Laughs begin at 9 p.m. (free).
There are comedy showcases all week long, the details of which can be found at facebook.com/omahacomedyweek.
Omaha Comedy Week, which is sponsored by OmaHype, comes to a guttural climax on July 20 with a show featuring buzz-worthy Los Angeles comedian Rory Scovel (shown above), who has appeared on shows ranging from “Conan” to “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” Scovel performs at the Waiting Room, 6212 Maple St., and tickets are $8 for the 9 p.m. show.
The guy is pretty funny, and I can prove it. Just watch the video recorded a couple months ago of Scovel riffing some cleverly conceived improv by clicking on the video link below. (Not sure about the accent – is that German?)
