It appears that Ellen DeGeneres broke Twitter while entering it's records book.
Ellen DeGeneres came off the stage to take a "selfie" during the awards ceremony. That photo has now been re-tweeted more than 2.5 million times, a record for the social media site.
The tweet also appeared to have momentarily broken Twitter. As the photo was picking up momentum thousands of people logged onto Twitter to find an error screen. The official Academy Awards page sent out a tweet saying, "Sorry, our bad."
The picture occurred after DeGeneres rounded up a who's who of Academy Award attendees. Included in the group were 2014 Oscar winners Jared Leto and Lupita Nyong'o. Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence, and Brad Pitt were among the others captured in the candid moment.
DeGeneres took to Twitter again after the show finished thanking everyone for watching, and announcing she had to meet up with her friend "margarita."
