What: Cursive, with Digital Leather
When: 9 p.m. Sunday, June 23
Where: Waiting Room, 6212 Maple St.
One band is a well established, internationally known indie icon. The other band is on its way to earning the same indie cred recognition. Both are based in Omaha, and both are playing on the same bill on Sunday, June 23, at the Waiting Room Lounge in Benson.
Cursive (pictured above), together since 1995, is led by Tim Kasher and has become a Saddle Creek Records darling. The band’s latest album, 2012’s “I Am Gemini” drew rave reviews from fans and critics alike for its adventurous take on independently minded rock. If you have never seen Cursive live, get ready for goose bumps. That happens (especially) to first-timers – and members of the Cursive army, too.
Opening Sunday’s show is Digital Leather, a rock band that has created a massive buzz around town and beyond. The band was recently named one of the acts that will be playing this year’s Maha Music Festival. Here’s your chance to see them perform in a more intimate setting.
