What: Cayucas, with JBM
When: 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 25
Where: Waiting Room, 6212 Maple St.
Feeling toasty out there yet? Summer is here, and it’s time to embrace the sun (when it’s not a torrential downpour) and enjoy some summery tunes. There’s no better band to do that with on Tuesday, June 25, then Cayucas, a group from Southern California that specializes in creating an island vibe, with sunny songs in an indie pop vein.
The five-piece band is on the road touring in support of their latest album, “Bigfoot,” which was released a couple of months ago (the album cover is pictured above). It includes the catchy ditty “East Coast Girl,” the video of which you can see by clicking the link below.
It’s nothing too heavy. The name Cayucas (pronounced “ky-ook-us”) is an homage to a sleepy little seaside town in San Luis Obispo County, Calif., which is perfect for the type of music the band plays. Plan on a nice, low-key show for a Tuesday evening. It’s happening at the Waiting Room, 6212 Maple St. Warming the stage beginning at 9 p.m. is JBM.
