From the indie comics and nationally touring acts that local comedy troupes like OK Party Comedy bring to Omaha to the big-name stand-up stars that appear at the Funny Bone Comedy Club, Omaha is blessed with laughter. A prime example: Renowned comic's comic Todd Barry at the Slowdown on Thursday, August 21st.
Barry flies below the comedy radar much of the time. He might not be a household name, but he's one of the most respected stand-ups currently touring. He hangs out with comics like Louis C.K. and Sarah Silverman and Mitch Hedberg before he passed on.
Barry has had parts in films like “Road Trip” and “Pootie Tang” and he played Mickey Rourke's boss in “The Wrestler.” He's also appeared on the Adult Swim live-action series “Delocated” and as himself in a recurring role on “Louie.”
