What: Baauer, with RL GrimeJ, im E-Stack and Buzzjunior
When: 9 p.m. Saturday, July 20
Where: The Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St.
Any Harlem Shakers in the house? There's bound to be plenty of them at the Slowdown, 729 N. 14th St., on Saturday, July 20, when Baauer brings his dance grooves to Omaha.
Baauer (pictured above), the stage name for trap and bass music maker Harry Rodrigues, scored mainstream success earlier this year with his tune "Harlem Shake," which was at the center of a viral video craze. Even the Simpsons got into the Internet meme with their own 30-second version, called the "Homer Shake."
It's a good cut, but it's just the beginning of DJ Baauer's mix. The guy can get a crowd movin'. So, too, can the artists traveling with him to Omaha. Opening the show at 9 p.m. will be Buzzjunior (a soul and R&B vibe), followed by Jim-E Stack (Space Age slant); and RL Grime, whose electronic music has an aquatic feel to it.
Tickets for the show are $18 in advance, $20 day of show.
