When: Beginning at 3 p.m. Saturday, August 24
Where: Saddle Creek Shop, 721 N. 14th St.
This is one of those rare, special, you-want-to-be-able-to-say-you-were-there kind of shows where a wide variety of some of Omaha's brightest musicians come together to perform. It's being called "Songs," and it goes down on Saturday (August 24) at Saddle Creek Shop, 721 N. 14th St.
Laura Burhenn of the Mynabirds, Orenda Fink of Azure Ray, Dan McCarthy of McCarthy Trenching, James Maakestad of McCarthy Trenching and Gus & Call, and Zack Lagrue are all set to perform beginning at 3 p.m. in all-acoustic, hootenanny-style. Expect extreme pleasure.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Omaha Public Library's American Music summer program. "America’s Music: A Film History of Our Popular Music from Blues to Bluegrass to Broadway” is a project of the Tribeca Film Institute in collaboration with the American Library Association, Tribeca Flashpoint, and the Society for American Music.
