Got Green?

Get out your green hats, green shirts, green pants, green underwear, green beads, green socks, green make-up, green hair, green nails … green … basically, anything you can color green will be seen today in Omaha.

Here’s a look at what’s happening at some of the “Irishy-named” bars in town:

Clancy’s Pub

  • 168th and Center streets
  • 114th and Dodge streets
  • 72nd and Pacific streets
    Clancy’s will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at all there locations, and as usual, they have plenty on tap. Here’s a rundown of the planned events at each of the Clancy’s locations:

    168th and Center: 4 p.m., Pipes & Drums Irish music; 1-5 p.m. the Fishheads will perform their coveted party music; and 7-midnight, blues-makers Blue House will rock the house.

    114th and Dodge: 2 p.m., Pipes & Drums; noon-4 p.m., Hittin Skinz; 4-8 p.m., Averisious; 8-midnight, Rough Cut. Inside, there will be a DJ and Irish music all day and night.

    72nd and Pacific: 5 p.m., Pipes & Drums; noon-5 p.m., Giga-D; 5-midnight, DJ.

    O’Connor’s Irish Pub
    1217 Howard St.
    The Guinness – and pretty much every other kind of beer – will be flowing at one of Omaha’s most popular St. Patrick’s Day hangouts.

    Two Fine Irishmen
    18101 R Plaza
    Party like a paddy and like a saint over four days at the “St. Pat’s Blowout” Bash at Two Fine Irishmen. On St. Patrick’s Day, doors open at 6 a.m. for green eggs and ham, corned beef and cabbage, Irish Nachos and lots of other specials. Omaha’s Pipe& Drums will play at 1, 5:30 and 8:30 p.m.; Hidden Agenda plays from 2-5 p.m., and Lemon Fresh Day performs from 9:30 p.m. until the party is over.

    The Dubliner
    1205 Harney St.
    The Dubliner opens at 6 a.m., and is know for serving Lucky Charms cereal and Guinness. Yum! Live music starts at 2 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day.

    Marylebone Tavern
    3710 Leavenworth St.
    It’s always a party at the Marylebone Taverns, where they traditionally paint a giant shamrock on the street in front of the bar.

    Brazen Head Irish Pub
    319 N. 78th St.
    Live music, drink specials and dancing and food are all part of the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebrations at this midtown Irish pub.

    Barrett's Barleycorn Pub & Grill / Castle Barrett
    4322-4330 Leavenworth St.
    The Corn is always hopping’ during St. Partrick’s Day. The pub and patio open at 8 a.m. and will be serving corned beef hash, eggs and sausage. The Castle opens at 11 a.m. for a stew and corned beef sandwich lunch.
