WOWT 6 News and Performance Auto Group have partnered to give middle school and high school students an opportunity to win an iPad® mini and earn their school a $5,000 grant. Participants will demonstrate their creative communication skills either individually, or in a team of up to four members, by creating a 15-second “Driven to Be the Best” Public Service Announcement (PSA) that promotes safe driving habits.
All “Driven to Be the Best” PSA entries must be uploaded to WOWT.com no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013.
A panel of judges will select six finalists, whose PSA will air on WOWT 6 News at Ten the week of December 16-29, 2013. Viewers, families and friends are encouraged to go online to WOWT.com and vote for their favorite PSA. The voting will end at 3 p.m. on December 30th. We will announce the winning team December 30, 2013 during the 10 at Ten newscast. The winning PSA will also be aired on WOWT NBC Omaha, January through March, including the programming for the Sochi Olympic Games.
Whether it is texting and driving, or not wearing a seatbelt, unsafe driving habits are performed every day, and while multitasking might look good on a future job application, it is a leading cause in vehicular collisions and injuries. Performance Auto Group encourages you to practice safe driving habits and to always keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel.
Performance Automotive Group has been a proud leader in the automotive business and local community for over 50 years, and wants to remind you of the importance of staying alert and focused when you are behind the wheel.
