Sarpy County Voters Sign Off On School Bond

Voters in Sarpy County signed off on a $59.6 million bond issue to improve schools.

AS of 10:55 p.m., the Sarpy County Election Commission shows 59% of voters support the bond issue. 41% voted against it.

The bond will be used to pay for renovations at both junior high schools and four elementary schools. A brand new junior high building would also be built along with an elementary school. The district would also use the bond money to add fiber optic cabling between all district buildings.

As for the cost to taxpayers, it will come out to about 4.2 cents per $100 of assessed value or about $42 a year for a $100,000 house.
