There was some rain this morning and there were fans around TD Ameritrade Park even though the first game didn't start till 2:00 Tuesday afternoon.
The rain had no effect on the game and fans tell us it didn't affect them either.
This is a rainy parking lot across the street from Ameritrade.
But when the fans get ahold of it, it's so much more.
Traci Maloney and others from Jackson, Mississippi, are setting up for a day of tailgating.
"It just enhances the whole experience and atmosphere, Traci said. "If you don't come and tailgate, if you just go into the game, you're missing 90 percent of the fun."
If you walk over to the village of LSU fans, you'll see what she's talking about.
They've got great food on the grill.
They're playing games, and so much more.
Edward and Merlene Bonvillain have made the trip every year since 1989.
They say with the party, comes lots of friends.
"You come across so many different people out here, I mean, from all over the world," Edward said.
"The people we're tailgating with are from Texas,' Merlene said. "We just met them up here, and every year we meet them up here."
To all of these fans, it's these moments that make the experience.
They say a little rain, certainly won't stop them.
"The only thing that could top this would be our own stadium, LSU and the tailgating at that place, so it's second to none."
