Ok, enough of that, a poet I am not.
Welcome to my blog! For the record... my name is Colleen. I am 43 years old. My family consists of my husband, Bryan, my daughter, Liz (19); and my 5 sons... Christian (17), Caelan (11), Cary (9), Marik (5) and Trace (2). I am one of the bloggers who signed on because God has decided to bless me with really horrible will power and unless I decide to use one of the many other gifts He has given me, I’m afraid the person who I know is inside will be lost forever. Dramatic enough?
First let me say how excited I am for this opportunity! I watched a video that was taken of me the other day and all I could say looking at it was “who is that person?” In the bio I emailed to Jayme at the American Heart Association, I told her that I am now on a mission to find the person I know that I am... the one with confidence, the one who is sure of herself. I have put myself at the bottom of so many piles lately that I am starting to finally stand up under all of the weight and start shaking. I’m pretty sure most all of the weights are actually attached right now, so I’ll be dragging them right along with me on this journey to health and happiness. Please, fasten your seat belts and come along for the ride!
Tomorrow is a new day, a better day and the beginning of the rest of our lives. So cliche, but so true. I have come to a crossroads in my life where I have decided to take back my life. I am putting on my Indiana Jones hat and am off on the adventure of a (my) lifetime. I am in search of the greatest treasure of all... me. So, from now on, call me Indie. (I added the "ie" for a more feminine version).
SUNDAY SHOUT OUTS
*JAYME SANDBERG from the American Heart Association... she has already given me so much support and confidence to successfully pull this off. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
*JENNIFER REDMOND, also from the American Heart Association... thank you for believing in me to be a role model for women in Omaha... you are an amazing woman, besides being super talented for being able to walk on heels while being pregnant.
Throughout this next 12 weeks, there will be many more thanks being made. There are many people involved in this project, some I have met, some I have yet to meet. I am so looking forward to the entire ride and I hope you stay tuned. I will warn you, this is my first time “officially” blogging... comments are welcomed and appreciated. I will try not to appear all over the place at times, even though that's probably where I am.
Before I sign off, I do want to officially thank the American Heart Association for organizing, WOWT for promoting and Alegent Health systems for educating. A huge thank you to Rockbrook Camera for the awesomely cool Flip video cameras so that we can post videos of some of the awesome things happening. I realize how lucky I am to be chosen to be a part of this team, I will NOT let you or myself down!
Until tomorrow...
