I have been looking at my calendar for then next few weeks and all I can do is sigh. I love having a big family, but man, does it get busy. I have to apologize for not having a daily update/blog, but when I get some downtime lately, my brain has been shutting down. My husband and oldest son have been out of town since last Saturday and between my part-time job, meetings, and kids, I haven't had a lot of extra time. I know, lame excuse, but I promise to try harder.

I have to say though that if it weren't for being one of the BetterU bloggers, I would have really made some bad choices. Usually when things get ultra hectic for me, we eat a lot of drive thru. I have really been making an effort to get things at the grocery store that are just as quick and easy to make. I have to also confess that I failed last night, after I got off of work, I let my craving for a drive thru burger get the best of me. Oh, well... one time in 2 weeks for me is really good.

It seems my goals change on a pretty regular basis, but for me knowing that I have people following my progress and cheering me on keeps me on a pretty even track. I can't tell you how many times throughout the day I think of what I should be doing eating and exercising wise. So, thank you to all who are reading this.

Next week the accountability will really come in handy. My 11 yr old and my 9 yr old sons both start tackle football practice. Can you say "being in two places at the same time?" Four nights they both have practice from 6-8 at two different places... ay yi yi! Pick up isn't so bad, because their dad can grab one, but drop off is another issue completely. Last year we only had one in and I can't begin to tell you how much we all ate in the car. I'm really going to have to put some thought into this. That's my goal right now, plan for next week. Any ideas?

Crock pot meals are also a great idea!

I think if you try to plan ahead and make meals on the weekends that you can freeze and then easily heat up will be the best thing for you and your busy family. Also, having LOTS of fruits and vegetables cut up and washed to have in the car will be a great advantage too. These things should help deter you from the drive thru window! Hope these suggestions help! If you ever need to talk, let me know! The business card I gave you has my office number on it, give me a call anytime! Hang in there! You're doing an awesome job!

I say cut up some veggies and pop them in ziplock bags so they can snack and you can too. Fibre bars (you know the ones!), those rock! Pack your water...go online and check out the fast food places and make sure you know what are the best choices...sometimes its not what your think (salad dressings are horrible and even sometimes wraps!) Remember, we are watching you.... lol

I feel your pain, Colleen!! I raised 5 kids so I understand what you're going through. You're on the right track with "putting some thought into it." Sounds like a picnic supper is in order -- that would be fun for the rest of the kids, too! I'm cheering you on!
