One of my friends did her best to humor me. She saw me on the morning Ryan and Quinn were "graduating" from kindergarten and asked me if I had tissue handy. I breezily answered I didn't think I'd need it. Once the baby, our daughter Drew, is done with kindergarten then I'll cry.

She gave me a look that said "yeah, right" and like most parents with older kids, she knew what she was talking about.

The girls looked beautiful in their caps and gowns (okay, pretty dresses). The boys looked like they had just finished a baseball game.

I didn't full out cry, but the tears did start welling several times. How does it happen so quickly? You blink and a school year goes by. I'm so proud of the boys, but not ready for them to be "big kids" just yet. Maybe we never are ...

I can only imagine how I will be when my son graduates from kindergarten. He will be starting his first year of preschool in the fall and I'm already getting the kleenex ready!!!!
