Must have needed that ...

Something happened today that's never happened to me before ...

My husband took the boys to preschool, I put Drew down for her morning nap, and went into our room to change clothes. Our bed caught my attention. Before everyone left, the kids were rolling around on it. It was made, but looked a little worse for wear. I leaned across it to smooth things out and ... woke up 45 minutes later!

I told my husband this story, adding that I felt a little guilty when I woke up. He looked at me as if I'd lost my mind and said "Why, because you were tired?"

I think I was focusing on all the things I could have done with those 45 minutes, but as we all know, sometimes a little downtime is a lifesaver. What do you do to decompress?

Tracy

Oh, this story makes me smile! I'm glad your body took over and took care of you, Tracy! I wish I did more to decompress, such as exercise, but one thing I have to do every night is the daily crossword in the OWH. It turns off my brain for the night. My husband laughs at me because there are nights when I'm nodding off while doing the puzzle, but it gets done! Plus, hopefully it will help stave off early Alzheimers.... Keep taking your naps when you need them!

Tracy, When my boys were babies if they took a nap so did I. My often tried to make me feel guilty, she said when we took naps then she would clean a closet or clean out a drawer. Not me. You need to take care of yourself and if a your body required a nap then enjoy and leave the guilt behind. Now that we have an empty nest I still take an occasional nap.
