This is the week that AC/DC will make their stop in Omaha!!  While I may not be as devoted a fan as most concert goers will be this Thursday Night, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to see a musical act of their reputation.  I may not have the broadest knowledge of music and I am fairly young but I have had the opportunity to see a few good concerts.  Metallica, 3 Doors Down, and George Strait are a few that stick in my mind.  With Omaha being a prime stop in the Midwest for many concert tours, I'm looking forward to the opportunity to catch a few acts that I may not have given a second thought to in the past.  Are their any concerts tours that I need to keep an eye out for future stops here in Omaha?

I really wanted to see blue october but was out of town! I would give anything to see Shinedown (and Rev Theory) at sokol this week but any shows during the week are a no go with my crazy hours!

I'm wondering what MJ means by "a really good band." Plenty of great bands and musicians play in Omaha, some which other posters already named. I don't know if you're into Ben Folds at all, but he'll be at the Music Hall on March 17th, and he puts on a fantastic show.

Elton John and Billy Joel: May 12th. Done deal. The tears will be flowing when I hear the first few piano to "Your Song"... More to come I'm sure, we've had some great shows in the last couple years: Coldplay, Foo Fighters, DMB, The Killers, U2, and many more.

If you want a good country concert, don't miss Kenny Chesney's stop at the Qwest on May 8th. His concerts are always a lot of fun and very uptempo, plus there is a lot of energy there too!!

It sounds like we probably have different taste in music, but Omaha gets some of the best club shows in the country. Later this month, Cursive (from Omaha) is playing a show at the Slowdown. They are angular rock and have toured the US and Europe, been in Rolling Stone and other national music magazines and are very highly reviewed. Then this spring, the Hold Steady will be in Omaha. They have a sound somewhat similar to Bruce Springsteen. I urge you to check out the Slowdown, the Waiting Room and other Omaha venues that don't seat thousands.

Just a note. You'll never see a really good band here in Omaha. You'll have to head for either Chicago, Kansas City or Denver.
