I was looking through my movie collection yesterday, realizing just how few of them I have actually watched more than once. Once it hits me just how much money I've spent, I start to wonder why I bought some of them in the first place. I've taken a shot on a movie I've never seen and had it work out (The Recruit) and I've struck out as well (Tenacious D: The Complete Master Works - big mistake!! turns out Jack Black ISN'T funny ALL the time!). Bought a movie for a buck from a buddy who didn't like it (The Ladykillers - Haven't watched it since.) I've got the list of movie buys just because of their sheer awesomeness (Wedding Crashers, 300, 3:10 to Yuma, Office Space, Etc.....) But the whole purpose of this rant is to pay homage to "Major League", the best sports comedy ever put together. It's that one movie I can throw in any time and still laugh like crazy. In fact, the more you watch it, the more one liners you pick up on. (Bob Uecker is the glue that holds that movie together.) Everybody has one, I've told you mine, so whats that one movie you have watched so many times that you use the one liners in conversation!!!

LOL In college, we had no cable tv & owned 3 movies, Raiders of the Lost Arch, Grease and Major League. Major League was the movie of choice I can still quote it almost line for line! Roomie & I went to Major League 2 at the theatres and were the only one laughing our behinds off. We caught all of the references to the first movie that everyone else had forgotten.

Who doesn't like Robin Williams? I would love to see his stand up before he hangs it up!

My favorites: "Mrs Doubtfire" I love Robin Williams; "Young Frankenstein", "Monty Python and the Holy Grail", and of course "Airplane".

I would have to say 'Bull Durham' would be the best sports movie! At least for baseball :)

The Big Lebowski is my favorite...I can quote a one-liner from that movie on a daily basis! Man, that movie never gets old.

Airplane!!! And Christmas Vacation is definitely up there, in season or not. I can also watch Mean Girls, Office Space, and Dirty Dancing over and over again. Yes, I'm a girl, so you might all disagree with my last pics, but I think we'd Airplane is universally awesome.

Jack Black is rarely funny. And Major League "the best sports comedy ever put together"...... While it is very funny, here I must pay homage to Baseketball or Kingpin.... to be continued

Mommie Dearest. I know that movie isn’t supposed to intentionally be funny. But it’s a riot. Me and my friend can carry on entire conversations from that movie or sometimes we’ll just re-enact one of the Joan Crawford freak out sessions: “Box office poison?? BOX OFFICE POISON??” and people look at us like we are absolutely insane. And its quite fun. (I think acting goofy in public is good for the soul, keeps you grounded)

I agree that Tenacious D is funny, i have 2 cd's, but their complete master works wasn't the greatest.

You're right about Jack Black not being funny all of the time, but I'm going to disagree with you on when he is funny. Tenacious D is VERY funny.
