Home Improvement

After visiting the Home and Builders show at the Qwest Center, my husband and I got motivated to do some small home improvement projects.   However, he small projects we have set out to do are quickly snowballing into much larger renovations.

Project one was to re-tile the bathrooms, so we went to the store to pick out the tile.  We brought home some samples that ranged in color from black to white to blue to green. After I looked at the pretty new flooring, I decided all my bathroom fixtures seemed dated and needed to be replaced as well.  So now we’re putting in a new shower stall, new shower fixtures, new bath fixture, two new sink fixtures, three new towel bars, new toilet paper holder and new light fixture, new cabinet handles, new doorknob…you get the picture.  My husband groaned a bit when his “little” job turned into several, but I’m not done.  The new towel bars are not quite the same length as the old ones so that leaves a messed up paint job on the wall, so now I’m going to have to re-paint the bathroom.  Personally I HATE painting and have a hard time picking out paint, I don’t have a clue what color I want.

Thankfully in my husband’s bathroom we don’t need to do as much just a new bathtub fixture and new flooring.  We were going to try and do most of the work ourselves but decided to hire someone to install the flooring.  That way we won’t have to deal with taking out the toilets and such.

While we were shopping for all the new fixtures I picked up a new fan for our bedroom and we started looking a deck designs.  Our next project:  A new deck that stretches across the back our house and around our hot tub.  My husband plans to do that one all by himself.  Wish us luck!

Wow surelly sounds like you are going to be busy for most of the summer trying to get these "small" little projects done. Good luck and smart to hire someone to do the floor, it could get very tricky with tiling around the toilet and all. Best of luck
