Perfect Day…

As we all know Saturday was just gorgeous.  I would go as far to say it was a perfect spring day.  It was 60-degrees, sunny and very little wind (which is rare).

So did you take advantage of the weather?  If you didn’t you should feel guilty because it looks like winter is making a come back next week.  I took my dogs for an hour long walk, they loved it.  Then I cleaned up all the garbage that was stuck in the bushes and sidewalks, once the snow melts all that junk collected over the winter starts to reveal itself.  Then my husband and I spent some quality time together cleaning out the garage.  Is it just us or do all garages have thousands of roly-poly’s dead in the corners? Yuck!

Like many of our neighbors, my husband also dusted off the motorcycle, revved up the engine and took it for a little ride.  I don’t ride.  We had little bit of a potential bad experience the first time I rode.  I was in all my new gear, leather pants, jacket, helmet, gloves the whole nine yards.  I looked like a true rider.  Well, my husband pulled over a few miles in and said I was doing great except my helmet kept hitting the back of his.  I told him I would try and to better, but truth be known I was having trouble staying awake.  A look of terror crossed his face and he took me home, immediately.  He said he didn’t want to have “that” conversation with my mom.  Something about a standard biker tee-shirt that says something like; “if you can read this she fell off.”   Needless to say I haven’t been on the bike since and that was about 3 years ago.  He said that he has gotten over that incident and we will be trying again this year.  Now all we need is another perfect spring day.

This story made me laugh because it reminded me of when I first rode with my husband. He had told me how hot the pipe was and I was careful getting on but when I got off my skin touched it for a split second and that's all it took to have a scar for the rest of my life!! Needless to say I have never ridden again and don't plan to because I don't trust other drives being able to see us. After having 2 daughters, my husband also realized the dangers and sold his motorcycle. Thank goodness!

I am hoping that the weather is decent this weekend so I can take my harley out of the garage, dust it off, and take it for a spin. Good luck with your upcoming adventures on a bike. What kind is it?

Just make sure that you are safe this time. You were lucky last time that you did not get hurt or worse. I have heard of so many people getting seriously injured and all from riding on motorcycles. The person on the motorcycle can be the most skilled driver but you cannot trust the vehicles around you. Hope your next excursion on motorcycle will be enjoyable.
